Want to be on the bill for 2013?
Here are some guidelines for submitting your work or idea. Please note that the vast majority of our programme is filled at our invitation. We have very limited slots and receive many submissions which we cannot accept for the festival. Due to our limited administrative capacity, it may take some time before you receive a decision and we cannot offer any feedback where your submission has been unsuccessful.
We welcome submissions and proposals of the highest quality which resonate with the ethos of Solas. However, there is no requirement to explore all of our special areas of interest with any one item of programme and we like fresh, quirky and fun ideas, as well as those with a more serious agenda. Submissions are put before the relevant programming group for consideration.
We have a strict policy of booking only bands and artists that we have seen performing live and, therefore, ask for a list of upcoming gigs, particularly those happening in central Scotland. We prefer email approaches with mp3 files or a link to a website where we can listen to your work, although we do accept CDs to the postal address.
