Dave Randall

Dave Randall is a musician, writer and political activist. He has toured the world playing guitar for Faithless, Dido, Sinead O'Connor and many others. His book 'Sound System: The Political Power of Music' is a book of raves, riots and revolution. It looks at examples from Beethoven to Beyoncé and poses the question: how can we make music serve the interests of the many, rather than the few?

Dave will give an illustrated talk about the book before a Q&A. Sound System has just been shortlisted for the Bread and Roses award for radical publishing and was described by BBC 6Music's Mark Radcliffe as “Fascinating… Thought-provoking, readable and clever".
