In order for Solas to be a financially sustainable event, we need your help.
Recognising that the festival will not be self-funding in its early years (or perhaps ever), we need to raise 40% of Solas income from other sources. First, we are proud to be launching with Christian Aid Scotland and Greenbelt Festival as strategic partners and we hope that as we grow, these partnerships will be mutually beneficial and will give us some financial security.
Second, we need Solas SAINTS, and that’s where you come in. We are aiming to recruit 100 Saints before the festival – 100 generous people who will pledge a minimum of £5 per month to the festival.
Be among the first to become Solas Saints – you can make your pledge now – an early congregation of saintly ones (what’s the appropriate collective term?) would help us hugely as we get the festival planning process underway. Of course, as a Solas Saint, you’ll be kept closely in touch with the festival and be part of the decision-making community. There may also be some special treats at the festival only available to the Saints!
Donations are being administered by festival partner, Greenbelt. To make a donation, follow the link below and where it says ‘I would like my Donation to Support…’ be sure to select ‘Solas Festival, Scotland. Greenbelt will ringfence the money for us and will also give back to us any Gift Aid which can be claimed, making it even more valuable to us.
If you don’t want to sign up to become a Saint, please consider giving us a donation anyway. Single donations can also be given by clicking the link below. If you would rather send a cheque to us, please make it payable to Solas Festival and send it to 110 St. James Street, Glasgow G4 0PS.
And if you know of any organisations or grant-making bodies who could help support any part of the festival financially, please let us know about them.
