This panel, with representatives of Scotland’s development agencies, explores the challenges of increasingly strident 'them and us' rhetoric, compassion fatigue and the unhelpful representation of the poor as objects of poverty porn rather than active subjects of their own destiny.

In the wake of revelations of serious misconduct within international development charities, how do we best respond to the current challenges, and how can we shift the narrative so it realistically and positively reflects development and partnership?

With Sally Foster-Fulton (Christian Aid Scotland), Lynne Paterson (Tearfund) and Val Morgan (SCIAF).
