Volunteer at this year’s Festival

Hands On Volunteers

HandsOn Workcrew Volunteers – we are looking to recruit a team of about 40 young people 16-18 years, who would like to join our volunteer workcrew programme for the weekend. Workcrew is managed by a team of experienced youth workers who like to have fun helping others and make sure the festival runs smoothly. Workcrew volunteers join site teams to help with jobs like recycling, stewarding, technical wizardry at venues, welcoming/assisting festival guests and keeping our site looking beautiful. They also get to hang out at the Northstar venue, enjoy the festival at a much reduced price and make some new friends too ! We can also help your volunteer hours count towards Duke of Edinburgh or Millennium Volunteer Awards. Tell your friends and come to Solas together – work a bit, play a lot and help make Solas a great place to be ! Please use the information panel on this page to send us an email – make sure you say that you want to join the Workcrew !

Like many festivals, Solas depends on hands on help from a whole team of volunteers who take on roles in managing, organising, leading and running a really wide range of programme events and site facilities. The more hands on help we have, the richer the festival experience we can offer people, so growing and supporting teams of dedicated volunteers is a top priority. We are looking forward to working with a whole new network of Hands On Friends who will invest their skills and capabilities in making Solas the best it can be.

We know that making Solas a unique and life-enhancing festival experience for everyone depends on building a strong, intergenerational community of volunteers with a passionate commitment to serving others. We’re hoping that you are one of those people !
