Frank Notes: A different kind of reform - integrity on the ballot paper
In the first of these Frank notes, I hinted at the disillusionment with politics which seems to be out there, on both sides of the Atlantic. Well, there's no sign of that having diminished since!
I wrote about one response being to protest. Another would be to try to build something new.
At Solas this year, we will be exploring with journalists and commentators whether we in Scotland already have at our disposal the kernel of that something new: whether the values of the Scottish Parliament – wisdom, compassion, justice and integrity – can help us construct together a public life in which we can all have confidence.
We are proud that Solas has become a place where festival goers can participate in meaningful and respectful debate. We look forward to more of that this year.
Frank Strang, Chair.
